Do they need a probate lawyer? Washington state?

My aunt passed away recently and left no will and no power of attorney. She has five adult children and two of them are living in her house. They are struggling with money and trying to find a way to keep the house. She had a bank account that she used to make the house payment, but they wont release the money to her kids because there was no power of attorney. Any suggestions?
