My bf didn't pay for our first real date....at the movies :(?

Coming from a teen guy's perspective this sounds like a communication error. I think your boyfriend didn't really think that it was supposed to be a date. It sounds like he thought that you guys were just going to hang out. If he thought that it was a real date i'm sure he would have offered to pay. Judging by his clothes I think he just wanted to spend some time with you without having the stress of a date on his hands. However, on the hand, I don't think you should expect him to pay for you. I mean he's only 16 and he might not have a good source of cash like a job yet. Just a thought though... But i do think that if it is really bothering you that you should just mention it to him in the kindest way possible. Say something like you thought it was supposed to be a date and it didnt turn out that way.
