Sorting my fathers estate?

He left 2 bank accounts one has gone to probate which I as executor am pursuing without lawyer, how long for bank to sort account not in probate and how long for probate to be granted for other account, also a car was not in the will but is to be sold by me and split with my sister what do I have to do when selling this.
